New or second-hand container?
New container (first trip / one trip)
It leaves the factory, makes a single loaded sea voyage and arrives in virtually perfect condition. It is the best option if the container will be on display, if you plan to convert it into an office or home, or if you want the longest possible service life. For new units, you can ask about the availability of RAL colours.
Used container (second-hand)
It has spent several years in ocean freight and may show marks, dents or repairs, but it is delivered inspected, watertight and fully operational. It is the most economical choice for on-site storage, farms, warehouses or as a storage unit.
- As a guide, a used container usually costs between €1,000 and €1,800 and a new one between €2,500 and €4,000, depending on size, condition and stock.
- The final price depends on the depot of origin and the destination, which is why every quote is tailored.

Frequently asked questions about buying containers
How much does a shipping container cost?
It depends on the size, condition and location. As a guide, a used container usually costs between €1,000 and €1,800 and a new one between €2,500 and €4,000. Transport is quoted separately according to the route and type of unloading. Ask us for a quote and we will give you the exact price for your postcode.
What is the difference between a new and a used container?
A new (first trip) container has made only one voyage from the factory and arrives in almost perfect condition. A used container has worked for several years and may have marks or repairs, but it is delivered inspected, watertight and functional at a lower price.
Which container do I need, 20 ft or 40 ft?
The 20 ft container (6.06 m) is easier to position and move and is enough for most storage uses. The 40 ft container (12.19 m) offers twice the space at a lower cost per cubic metre. If you need extra height, the High Cube adds about 30 cm.
Can I choose the colour of the container?
For new containers, RAL colours are available depending on current stock. With used containers it is harder to choose a specific colour, although they can be painted afterwards.
Do you deliver throughout Spain?
Yes. We deliver throughout mainland Spain and, depending on availability and logistics conditions, to other European countries too. Delivery usually takes place 4 to 7 days after the order is confirmed.
Is financing available to buy a container?
Yes. Thanks to agreements with financial institutions, you can spread the cost over monthly instalments. Ask us about the terms when you request your quote.
How do I know Mar Containers is a reliable company?
We are MARENGO CONTAINERS, S.L. (NIF B93809333), registered in Valencia. We issue a contract and a legal invoice, and you can speak to the team by phone or video call before you pay. Our Safe purchase page explains how to verify all this.
